1,065 Injuries Reported During Winter Storm

The final total of winter storm-related injuries reported at hospitals throughout Oklahoma last week is 1,065, the State Department of Health announced Sunday.

According to officials with the Oklahoma State Department of Health, four fatalities were reported, with three of the four fatalities from a car accident, one fatality resulted from a head injury. Of the 1,065 injuries, 750 were attributed to falls. At least 263 injuries were reported on Saturday, with 193 of those recorded as falls.

The total reported injuries for the week included 750 falls, 160 transportation-related injuries, 94 cuts/piercings, 22 poisonings, four reports of exposure, and 35 people were injured when they were stuck by an object.
