The U.S. Department of Agriculture will now be now be posting announcements about food recalls on state specific Twitter accounts.

As of now, the USDA releases the information about recalled food products on a general Twitter account or on press releases. Officials decided that it would be more beneficial for consumers to have state-specific Twitter accounts because most food recalls are separated by region.

With the new Twitter handles, consumers will know exactly what foods will affect them. The handles will feature distinguishing letters of the state followed by an underscore and the word FSISALERT. Most recalled food products include poultry, meat and eggs.

If your loved one has become ill after consuming a defective food product, contact the Oklahoma contaminated toxic food products lawyers at the Abel Law Firm by calling 405-239-7046 today.
