Car strikes child on apartment playground

First responders were called to Savannah Landing Apartments on East 60 st at around 6 p.m. after receiving reports of the incident. A sedan drove into the playground and hit a 5-year-old boy.

The boy was rushed by their mother to a nearby hospital. He was not seriously injured.

Security guards detained the driver of the sedan until police officers arrived at the scene. Police believe impairment was a factor in the accident.
