Driver on I-40 blows tire, gets struck by semi-truck

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A driver on I-40 blew a tire, lost control of their vehicle, and was then struck by a semi-truck, reports Shardaa Grey.

The crash happened around 7:49 a.m. Wednesday morning on the part of westbound I-40 near S Harrah Rd.
After colliding with the vehicle, the semi-truck went off the roadway and into a wooded area.
Emergency crews closed all lanes of traffic in the area in order to retrieve the semi-truck from the trees in the wooded area.
The driver of the vehicle was hospitalized. Their condition is unknown at this time. According to troopers, the driver of the semi-truck is in stable condition.
