Elk City woman struck and killed in New Mexico hit-and-run

QUAY COUNTY, NM – A woman from Elk City, OK was killed by a hit-and-run driver on I-40 near the Texas and New Mexico border Saturday.

According to KOKO, the pedestrian was struck and killed on eastbound I-40 near San Jon, NM by a person in a vehicle who fled the scene.

The victim was identified as Andrea Lee Carnes, 49, from Elk City, Oklahoma. Authorities do not have a suspect or vehicle description at this time.
