Fatal collision on Turner Turnpike kills wrong-way driver

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OK – One person died after colliding with a semi just outside of OKC early Tuesday morning.

A driver in a pickup truck was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes on Turner Turnpike near Midwest Boulevard, reports KFOR. They struck a semi-truck head-on.

Authorities were on the scene around 2 a.m. when they pronounced the pickup driver dead. The semi-driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
