Fiery explosion injures 2 at Oklahoma tank battery

OKARCHE, OK – Two contracted employees were injured after a fire led to an explosion at a central Oklahoma oil tank battery on Mon. Jan. 24.

The incident happened at one of Devon Energy’s oil well pads in Okarche, reports KXII.

The workers were cleaning machinery not in use when the fire started. They were transported to an area hospital for injuries, although their conditions were not disclosed.

The cause of the explosion is not known at this time.
