Man dead after being hit by train on NW 70th St and Shartel Ave

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man was fatally struck by a train in northern Oklahoma City this afternoon, according to information from OKC FOX 25 News.
The crash happened near the intersection of N Shartel Avenue and NW 70th Street at around 1:45 p.m., when a man walking near the train tracks was unable to get out of the way of an oncoming train. The train, which was described as “exceptionally long,” was also unable to stop in time to avoid a collision.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
