Missing Student Dies In Car Crash

A University of Oklahoma student who has been missing since Friday has died in a car accident, police say.

Edmond Police spokeswoman Glynda Chu said that a passenger in a car driving along Waterloo Road observed an overturned silver Volkswagen Jetta on Sunday afternoon. The Volkswagen was driven by 21 year-old Julia Kathryn Gilbert of Edmond.

The car had veered off the kingfisher County road about a half mile west of County Line Road. Che said the car may have smashed into a guardrail on a bridge and fell into the area below.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash.
