A woman was killed and a man injured in a car crash on Interstate 40 Saturday.
According to officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 24 year-old Ashley T. Madison was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Madison was a passenger in a northbound car shortly after 2:00 a.m. when a sport utility vehicle traveling the wrong way in northbound lanes collided with her vehicle head on, the patrol reported.
The driver of the SUV, 22 year-old Justin T. Hill, of Norman, continued driving down the road for an unspecified distance before losing control of the vehicle. The SUV rolled onto its top, pinning Hill in the vehicle. The motor vehicle accident was a shock to drivers and locals in the area.
The driver of Madison’s car, 33 year-old Sukhbinder Matharu, of Edmond, was transported to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.
