A Minnesota company is recalling an estimated 62,488 lbs of processed poultry and meat in several of their ready-made meals after a federal agency discovered possible listeria contamination, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) reported on October 8.
Several breakfast products produced by Buddy’s Kitchen that contained roasted red skin potatoes were found to be positive for listeria monocytogenes. Though no one reported illness before the recall was issued, the contaminated products were already shipped in different locations nationwide and the FSIS is concerned that some of the meals have already been bought. People may suffer serious consequences from eating products contaminated with the harmful bacteria, including fever, convulsions, and confusion.
