Driver collides with motorcyclist who ran red light near Winds West

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A pickup truck struck and critically injured a motorcyclist who ran a red light at SW 44th St and Council Rd Thursday, KFOR reports

Police were called to the scene of the accident around 7:42 p.m. The motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital in stable but severe condition. The pickup truck driver was not injured.

Officers do not believe impairment was a factor in the collision.

Update: Police release more info on I-35 motorcycle crash

OKLAHOMA, CITY – Oklahoma City police have released more information on the crash involving a motorcycle Thursday at Southeast 44th St and I-35, News on 6 reports.

Josh Holderness, 26, was taken to the hospital by first responders after he collided with a truck. According to police, Holderness was at fault for the accident.

Police initially reported that Holderness died in the crash, but his family later confirmed he was still alive. His mother was able to identify him based on his tattoos.

Doctors induced Holderness into a coma due to severe swelling in his brain.
