Fatal accident near Lake Hefner leaves one dead, another injured

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police said an overnight crash on Thursday night near Lake Hefner killed one person and put another in the hospital, reports News on 6.

Officials say the driver of a newly purchased Porsche was speeding through the Lake Hefner area at around 11 p.m. The driver lost control and rolled their vehicle after hitting a roadway dip at a high speed near the intersection of NW 70th Street and N Portland Avenue.

The driver was declared deceased at the scene, and a passenger was taken to an area hospital. At this time, no information on the passenger’s condition has been released.

Fatal accident kills one woman in Bixby

BIXBY, OK – A 31-year-old woman was killed and two children were hospitalized due to a car accident on 181st Street at Harvard Avenue on Dec. 2.

According to News on 6, the woman, Chelsea Pugh, was driving south when another driver, Courtney Lawson, attempted to pass in a no-passing zone. The drivers collided head-on.

An 11 year-old-boy and a two-year-old girl were in the car with Pugh. Both had to be taken to the hospital.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.

Oklahoma Senator injured along Turner Turnpike

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Senator Allison Ikley-Freeman from Tulsa was traveling to the Capitol when her vehicle hydroplaned and hit another vehicle already on the side of the Turner Turnpike Friday morning.

According to KFOR, the previous driver’s vehicle also hydroplaned and was sent into a roadside ditch. Soon after, Sen. Ikley-Freeman hydroplaned in the same spot and also ran into the ditch.

The first driver, 44-year-old Enrique Lopez was unharmed when he slid off the road. However, he was killed when the second car ran into his.

The senator was transported to OU Medical Center and underwent surgery for her injuries. She is currently in stable condition.

Man dead after collision with street sign support

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An El Reno man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle accident Wednesday morning, according to FOX25.

At 1:16 a.m. Brent Davis, 61, crashed into overhead sign support at high speeds while driving on I-40.

Davis was ejected from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries.

Young man killed in rollover accident

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A young man was killed in a rollover accident Sunday morning, according to KOCO News 5.

Landon Elliot, 18, was found dead by his vehicle near Moccasin Trail Road at 10:20 a.m.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol report states that Elliot failed to yield at a stop sign. He then traveled across all the lanes of North Harris Avenue, went over the curb, through a ditch, and struck several trees.

Elliot’s 2011 Volkswagen is reported to have rolled an unknown amount of times. Elliot was ejected from his vehicle.

Elliot was pronounced dead at the scene.

Driver and passenger killed in crash after police pursuit identified

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. – Two people who died in a crash after a police pursuit on April 29th in Creek County have been identified by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 33-year-old Joshua Kyle Priest, of Bowlegs, and his passenger was 30-year-old Nicole Ann Stephens, of Oklahoma City. The pair were driving westbound on the Turner Turnpike when they were stopped by an OHP officer for a speeding violation.

As the officer approached Priest’s vehicle, he sped away, attempting to escape on country roads when another officer attempted a tactical intervention. Priest’s car left the roadway, hit a bridge, rolled down an embankment, and caught fire, according to ABC 8 Tulsa. The pursuit lasted fifteen minutes until the couple’s vehicle crashed. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
