Woman fatally strikes car after running stop sign near Edmond

LOGAN COUNTY, OK – A woman fatally collided with a car after running a stop sign near Edmond at S Sooner Rd and E Simmons Rd  Friday, according to KFOR.

Alice E. Dowers, 87, was driving south on Sooner Rd. She failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and collided with a pathfinder driving eastbound Simmons Rd.

The impact from the crash sent the pathfinder into the northbound lanes of Sooner Rd, where it then struck a Dodge Caravan and a GMC Yukon.

First responders were dispatched to the crash site around 10:52 a.m. and they pronounced Dowers dead at the scene.

The drivers of both the Yukon and Pathfinder refused treatment. The driver of the Yukon did not suffer any injuries.

Oklahoma High Patrol is investigating the crash.
