Woman in critical condition after crash with wrong-way drunk driver

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A 70-year-old woman was hospitalized following a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver on I-40 Friday.

According to News 9, Geraldine Azofeifa, 24, was traveling with a passenger in an SUV the wrong-way on I-40 near Shields Boulevard when she struck another vehicle head-on.

A woman in the vehicle that was hit is now in critical condition.

Azofeifa claimed she had one drink that night but a breathalyzer test confirmed her blood alcohol content was well above the legal limit. She was arrested and charged with DUI causing great bodily injury.
