1 killed in motorcycle wreck on I-40 WB near El Reno

CANADIAN COUNTY, OK — One person died Monday afternoon after a motorcycle accident on Interstate 40 near west El Reno, according to News9.

The fatal collision occurred on the westbound lanes at Exit 115 to South Calumet Road. It was first reported by News9 shortly after 3:00 p.m.

No details regarding the victim or the circumstances behind the crash have been released at this time. It was not immediately clear whether another vehicle was involved or whether anyone else was hurt.

All westbound lanes of I-40 were shut down during the emergency response. Alternate routes were recommended.

An investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol was underway.
