2 women and 2 children killed, 3 children injured in Ottawa County crash

QUAPAW, OK (OTTAWA COUNTY) – A collision on Highway 69 in northeastern Oklahoma led to the death of two women and two children and the injury of three other juveniles on Friday night, according to KFOR.

The crash happened north of Quapaw on Hwy 69, near South 630 Road, at 8:39 p.m., when a 2016 Nissan Rogue and a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix collided.

The driver of the Pontiac, 30-year-old Charlsee Eberly, of Miami, Okla., and the driver of the Nissan, 28-year-old Quapaw resident Kaitlyn Kibel, died at the scene. A passenger in the Nissan, a 10-year-old boy from Quapaw, was also pronounced dead at the site of the crash.

A 7-year-old girl from Miami, also a passenger in the Nissan, was taken to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Three other children, all of whom were passengers in the Nissan, were taken to the hospital in Joplin, Missouri, with multiple, extensive injuries. They include an 8-year-old boy and 3-year-old boy from Miami and a 7-year-old boy from Quapaw.

The weather was rainy when the crash occurred, though the cause remains under investigation at this time.
