23-year-old woman dead after being hit by car in Sallisaw

SALLISAW, OK – A 23-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a car in the Sallisaw area early yesterday morning, according to Tulsa World.

The crash happened at around 1:20 a.m. on Highway 59, about a mile north of Sallisaw, when 23-year-old Sallisaw resident Sarah Kay Lawson was hit by a 2018 Dodge Journey.

Lawson was taken to the hospital in Sallisaw, and there she was pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation.
