24-year-old man killed in pedestrian accident in Guymon on Christmas

GUYMON, OK – According to The Guymon Daily Herald, a 24-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by a semi-truck on Highway 3/US-412 near Guymon on Christmas day.

Officials say around 12:04 p.m. on Friday, December 25th, Zacarias Ortiz-Hernandez of Guymon was struck by a 2020 Kenworth semi-truck after he seemingly intentionally stepped into the roadway of Hwy 3/US-412 3 miles east of Guymon. The semi-truck driver, Timothy Calvert of Oklahoma City, exited to the left side of the highway after the collision.

Ortiz-Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene. Calvert did not sustain any injuries.
