24-year-old woman killed in Logan County tractor-trailer crash

LOGAN CO., OK – Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol have identified the woman killed in a collision involving a tractor-trailer Thursday morning.

According to KFOR, the accident took place at about 10:25 a.m. along I-35 a few miles north of Guthrie.

Investigators believe Kristen N. Benham, 24, lost control of her 2008 Dodge Ram and collided with a cable barrier before traveling into the southbound lanes where the pickup truck was hit by an oncoming tractor-trailer. Both vehicles caught fire following the accident.

Benham’s body was trapped inside her vehicle for several hours following the crash. She was pronounced dead after being extricated by fire crews.

It is still unclear what caused Benham to lose control of her vehicle.
