3 Asher Youths Killed in Oklahoma Car Accident

Thee Asher residents were killed Tuesday in an Oklahoma car accident, police say.

According to officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 21 year-old Joshua McBroom; 19 year-old Andrew McBroom, and 16 year-old Leah Hanson, were killed in a wreck on Oklahoma 59 shortly after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. Police say the three victims were passengers in a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am that was driven by 18 year-old Chad Mullen. Mullen was traveling west on OK59 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 177, authorities say.

The Pontiac collided with a southbound Nissan Xterra. The Pontiac rolled over and the three passengers were ejected from the vehicle.

Joshuan and Andrew McBroom were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, the OHP reported. Hanson was transported by ambulance to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where she was pronounced dead.

Mullen sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, troopers said. The driver of the Nissan, 50 year-old Mark Cicero, was not injured in the accident.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims families and friends during this difficult time.
