3 family members seriously injured following head-on collision on I-40

FORT GIBSON, OK – Three members of a family from Fort Gibson have sustained serious injuries following a collision on I-40 Sunday, Fox 23 reports.

The Impson family was on their way to a soccer game in Oklahoma City when an eastbound driver slammed into their vehicle head-on in the westbound lanes of I-40. The family was trapped for 45  minutes before being freed and taken to OU Medical Center.

Four family members were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Parents Klint and Katheryn Impson, along with their 7-year-old son, were seriously injured and are said to be fighting for their lives. Their daughter was less seriously injured and is expected to recover.
