Three people were killed in an Oklahoma car accident Thursday.
Police say the fatal accident occurred on Interstate 240 near the Shields Boulevard exit Thursday. According to officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, two vehicles were traveling westbound on the interstate at a high rate of speed when one of the vehicles struck, or swerved toward, the other causing it to leave the roadway and drive up an embankment. The car then struck the bridge pylon, ejecting all three occupants. The other vehicle involved fled the scene.
Authorities say 20 year-old Antwain Field and 27 year-old Marcel Jackson were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The third victim, 20 year-old Jesse Howard was transported to an area hospital in critical condition following the crash, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol report stated none of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing seatbelts.
