7-Year-Old Girl Killed in Oklahoma Car Accident

A seven year-old girl from Fort Worth, Texas is dead following a Saturday morning car accident in Oklahoma.

According to an accident report from the Oklahoma State Patrol, seven year-old Cheyanne Rhodes died shortly before 12:00 p.m. Saturday. Rhodes was a passenger in a sport utility vehicle that overturned on Interstate 35 near Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Rhodes was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to officials with the Oklahoma State Patrol. The vehicle she was riding in apparently lost control on the snow covered roadway and overturned. Rhodes was ejected from the SUV. Preliminary police reports say Rhodes’ mother, Cenece Rhodes, the driver of the SUV, was distracted by a cell phone call when the accident occurred.

Cheyanne Rhodes was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
