Apartment fire hospitalizes three in West Tulsa

TULSA, OK – An accidental cooking fire at Bright Water Apartments sent three to the hospital Tuesday, reports Fox 23.

Firefighters responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m. The fire was contained to the ground floor.

Two people were inside at the time of the incident and fire fighters had to go through a back window to rescue a woman trapped inside. The third person hospitalized was a bystander that authorities say may have been trying to help those inside.

One of the victims was, “in pretty bad shape”, according to one of the firefighters on the scene. The conditions of the other victims is not known at this time.

Firefighters urge people to stay alert while cooking in order to help prevent similar accidents from occurring.
