Bicyclist killed in Okemah crash

OKEMAH, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are investigating the cause of a collision that killed a bicyclist near Okemah Wednesday night.

The crash occurred along County Road Old 62 three miles from Okemah, according to KFOR. Edward Martell, 56, was pronounced dead upon emergency services’ arrival on the scene.

Martell was struck by a 2018 Chevrolet occupied by one adult and two children. No one in the vehicle was injured as a result of the crash and the driver is cooperating with the investigation.

Information regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash has not yet been released.
