Tulsa police working to identify cyclist killed in hit-and-run

TULSA, OK – Investigators with the Tulsa Police Department are seeking the public’s help in identifying the cyclist killed in a Sunday night hit-and-run.

According to News on 6, the incident occurred near the intersection of North Lewis Avenue and East Independence Street. Officials believe the cyclist was struck from behind while riding in the northbound lanes of Lewis Ave.

Police received a call 30 minutes after the accident was reported from the driver of a pickup truck who believed he hit something while driving on Lewis Ave.. The driver’s truck was impounded. However, the man has not been arrested pending the results of a toxicology test.

Officials are urging anyone with information regarding the identity of the cyclist to come forward.

Bicyclist killed in Hughes County hit-and-run

WETUMKA, OK (HUGHES COUNTY) – A man riding a bicycle was killed Saturday afternoon in a hit-and-run accident in Hughes County.

According to the official Twitter account of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., about a mile and a half from Wetumka on State Highway 9.

The victim, Glenn William Herrod, was riding a bicycle on SH-9 when an unknown driver struck him, then fled the scene.

At this time, there is no description of the driver or their vehicle.

Police are requesting that witnesses or anyone with information regarding the collision contact the Oklahoma Highway Patrol at 918-423-3636.

The accident remains under investigation.

Oklahoma City hit-and-run leaves one seriously injured

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A bicyclist was taken to the hospital following a hit-and-run accident southwest of downtown Oklahoma City early Thursday morning.

According to KFOR, two bicyclists were traveling eastbound near the intersection of Southwest 29th Street and South Miller Avenue at about 1:40 a.m.

A sedan driving in the same direction swerved around one bicyclist only to strike the second. One female victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. No updates on her condition have been released.

Police say the driver was behind the wheel of a late-model silver Ford Fusion.

Fatal bicycle accident in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A bicyclist was killed in an overnight crash northwest of downtown Oklahoma City Thursday.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Meridian Avenue and Northwest 17th Street, according to KOCO. The driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with Oklahoma City Police. No word on whether any charges will be filed has been released.

The identity of the bicyclist has not been released, as the family has not yet been notified.

Cyclist hit by unmarked TCSO vehicle near BOK Ctr in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – A man on a bicycle was struck by an unmarked Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office vehicle near the BOK Center on Thursday, where President Donald Trump held a rally today.

According to a video posted by News on 6, the accident happened just before 7:30 a.m. on South Denver Avenue and West 3rd Street when the cyclist was struck by the TCSO SUV.

According to the video, glare from the morning sun could have played a part in the accident.

The cyclist was able to walk following the accident but was treated by EMS at the scene.

There was minor damage to the vehicle, including a broken mirror and a dent on the passenger side.

Cyclist hit by car in north Oklahoma City

Police continue the search for an Oklahoma City hit-and-run suspect

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police in Oklahoma City are continuing their search for the suspect in a May hit-and-run that critically injured a bicyclist.

The crash occurred on May 28th at about 12:00 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest 10th Street and MacArthur Boulevard. The bicyclist was taken to a hospital in critical condition where he still remains today.

According to KFOR, the vehicle in question is a Chevy Trailblazer, likely pained gold or silver with damage to the front passenger side, as well as a broken headlight and mirror.

Cyclist in critical condition after hit-and-run accident in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. – A cyclist is in critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle near N.W. 10th Street and MacArthur on Thursday morning. According to Oklahoma’s News 4, the victim was hit by an as-yet-unidentified vehicle at around 12:30 a.m. A bystander called 911 after discovering the victim. Whoever was responsible for the collision had fled the scene.

The cyclist was taken to the hospital in critical condition and suffering from severe head trauma.

The crash is currently under investigation and authorities urge anyone with any information about the accident to contact the police right away.

Bicyclist struck by car, severely injured in NE OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A woman was struck by a car and severely injured in Northeast Oklahoma City Monday, reports Oklahoma News 4.

The collision occurred on Monday at 10:20 p.m. near N.E. 36th Street and Kelley. The two vehicles were occupying the same lane, and the driver claimed to be unable to see her due to dark and stormy weather.

While the biker was not wearing proper safety equipment, fault has not yet been determined.

She was hospitalized with severe but non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests were made.

Police arrest 17-year-old driver after cyclist is killed in deadly hit-and-run crash

TULSA, OK. – A 17-year-old was arrested by Okmulgee police after a deadly hit-and-run crash on Wednesday. The crash occurred at the intersection of East Kennedy and North Osage in Okmulgee at around 8:30 p.m.

The victim was identified as 60-year-old John Perryman. He was discovered lying in the roadway, and it was clear that he had been struck by a vehicle while he was riding his bicycle. The driver who hit Perryman had fled the scene. Perryman was pronounced dead a short time later at a local hospital.

Police were called to a nearby apartment complex at 11:30 p.m. by one of the relatives of the driver. The driver, a 17-year-old girl, informed her family of the crash and they contacted the authorities. She was taken into custody shortly thereafter and remains in a juvenile detention center.
