Good Samaritan Killed in Car Accident

A man from Jay, Oklahoma was killed Sunday when he was struck by a car as he attempted to render aid to victims of a car crash.

Authorities say 63 year-old Peter Holland died at the scene around 14 miles northeast of Jay. A couple from Grove, Oklahoma, was traveling southbound on Oklahoma Highway 20 when their car struck a tree shortly before 12 p.m.

Holland was administering aid to the victims, standing just off the roadway, when he was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by 54 year-old Timothy Eyres ran off the same curve in the road and struck him.

There is no word on the condition of the other three people. Police continue to investigate the crash.
