Driver In Fatal Tulsa Crash May Have Been Asleep

A man was killed in car accident outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma Monday after allegedly falling asleep at the wheel.

According to a report given by officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 37 year-old Rodney Harrington of Collinsville was killed early Monday morning when his vehicle ran off the roadway on 193rd East Avenue and struck a tree near the entrance to the Port of Catoosa.

Authorities could not comment on the nature or extent of the man’s injuries. A preliminary report released by the Coroner’s Office indicates that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
