CHEROKEE CO., OK – A driver was killed during Sunday’s snow storm after crashing their vehicle into a tree near the Welling Road and County Road 543 intersection, reports News on 6.
Authorities identified the victim as 58-year-old Donald Wynn. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the vehicle exited the right side of the roadway and struck a tree near the Welling Road and County Road 543 intersection. The crash occurred around 12 p.m. Sunday during a snow storm.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol further stated that an excessive speed for the road conditions caused the vehicle to exit the road and crash.
Wynn arrived at a nearby Tahlequah hospital in critical condition. He was then transported to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where he was declared deceased on arrival.
