Driver killed in crash involving high water on US-281 near Hinton

CADDO COUNTY, OK — A 43-year-old man died Tuesday morning after a single-vehicle wreck off U.S. Highway 281 near Hinton, according to KFOR.
First responders arrived at the scene on the eastbound lanes just east of the city at about 7:15 a.m.
An early investigation indicates the man was driving a 2008 Honda CRV eastbound when his car struck standing water. The man then lost control of the Honda, which slid off the roadway before striking one end of a bridge rail.
The victim died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities.
No further information has been shared at this time, but the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said an investigation remains underway.
