Driver struck, injured by break drum from dump truck near Guthrie

GUTHRIE, OK – A man was seriously injured after a dump truck experienced equipment failure on Broadway Tuesday, Guthrie News Page reports.

A Mack cement truck was traveling north on Broadway around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. When it got about a mile north of W Simpson Rd, its brake drum detached and went through the windshield of a Dodge ram, striking the driver, Jason Alexander, 33.

Alexander was taken to the hospital in critical condition with head injuries.

A report by Highway Patrol lists “equipment failure” as the cause of the accident.
