Fleeing driver arrested following fiery injury crash in NW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – News on 6 reports that a driver was arrested and another was injured after a fiery two-vehicle crash in northwest Oklahoma City on Saturday night.

Officials say the accident happened around 11 p.m. by the the intersection of Northwest 63rd Street and Northwest Expressway.

Both of the vehicles caught fire and witnesses helped extricate the drivers from their vehicles before emergency responders got to the scene.

When fire crews and police arrived, they found one vehicle rolled over and still on fire. According to authorities, its driver fled from police but was eventually caught and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. It is also believed the driver may have sped through a red light, contributing to the crash.

The other driver sustained injuries but received treatment at the scene and did not require hospitalization.
