A Pennsylvania-based hotdog manufacturer issued a recall to over 1 million lbs of pretzel hotdog products retailed nationwide due to an undeclared allergen in the packaging, the Food Safety and Inspection Service reported on November 18.
Reports said a total of 1,208,951 pounds of frozen hotdog products are being recalled by City Line Foods Manufacturing Co. for failing to list soy lecithin as an ingredient in the packaging. Some consumers may experience adverse reactions from eating food products containing soy lecithin. The misbranding was discovered in one of the inspections conducted by federal food safety agents. The company and federal authorities are currently unaware of injuries caused by the recalled products.
