Man crashes car, tries to climb church in attempt to escape OKC police

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man was hurt after earlier today after crashing his vehicle during a police pursuit, then climbing to the top of an OKC church in an attempt to escape, according to News on 6.

The chase began after police officers recognized a trailer that had been reported as stolen, and attempted to stop the driver of the towing vehicle.

The suspect then sped off towards I-44, reaching high speeds of about 70 mph before he finally crashed on NW 36th Street.

The driver attempted to flee the scene on foot and in an effort to escape the officers, tried to climb to the top of a church located at the intersection between NW 36th and Walker.

He was taken into police custody and was treated at the scene for undisclosed injuries.
