Man Killed in High Speed, Oklahoma Car Crash

A man was killed in an Oklahoma car accident after driving over 100 miles per hour in Midwest City and striking another car.

According to police reports, an officer observed 44 year-old Dennis Joe Jackson driving in the center lane on Northeast 23rd Street in a 1983 El Camino near Spencer Road. The officer said the vehicle was traveling over 100 mph and ran a red light heading into oncoming traffic. The officer attempted to stop Jackson but he had already sped a half mile away and ran a second red light near the intersection of 23rd Street and Midwest Boulevard.

Jackson collided with a maroon Ford Taurus head-on, skidded across five lanes of traffic, and went airborne. The 44 year-old was thrown from his vehicle, which came to rest on its side in the roadway. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Ford Taurus was treated at the scene and released.
