Man rescued after falling into Oklahoma City ditch

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma City Fire Department rescued a man who had become stuck in a drainage ditch northwest of downtown Thursday afternoon.

The fire department received reports of the incident near the intersection of 45th Street and Independence Avenue at about noon, according to KFOR. Authorities believe the man intentionally crawled into the ditch. He soon began experiencing leg pain and was unable to move. He solicited the help of a passerby who called 911.

Firefighters pulled the man from the ditch. He refused to be treated by emergency services at the scene and left on foot.
