Millions of defective Samsung washers recalled in the US

Samsung issued a product recall on about 2.8 million washing machines on November 4, after receiving complaints that they can malfunction and cause injuries to consumers, an article of cpsc.gov reported.

According to reports, at least 34 models of Samsung’s “top-load washing machines” have parts on the upper portion that could suddenly detach during use. If the problem occurs, people who are near the washing machines are at high risk of sustaining personal injuries. Samsung and the Consumer Product Safety Commission received 733 complaints of varying product malfunctions, nine of which resulted in people sustaining injuries to their shoulders and jaws. The recalling company offered three options to owners of the affected washing machines. They can have their money back, have their units replaced, or receive a discount on another Samsung washing machine.
