Minor arrested after early morning police chase in stolen car

EDMOND, OK – A 12-year-old was arrested after an early morning police chase that ended in a crash in Edmond Thursday.

Officials in Edmond spotted a stolen car traveling near 15th Street and Broadway at around 1 a.m. Thursday. According to KFOR, after he was spotted by police, the juvenile sped away reaching speeds close to 90 mph.

The chase ended when the driver swerved off the road and hit a building and light post.

They were taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries and are facing several charges such as felony eluding, possession of a firearm, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
