Norman man killed, another hospitalized following crash on I-35 ramp

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OK – A man from Norman was killed as the result of a single-vehicle crash near I-35 Monday morning.

According to KOKH, the accident occurred on the exit ramp from I-35 to I-240 westbound at about 11:30 a.m.

Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say the 1997 Toyota Tundra skidded on the wet roadway and struck a barrier wall before rolling over on the driver’s side. A passenger in the Toyota, 44-year-old Nelson Vangelder was rushed to OU Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The 20-year-old female driver was treated and released from another hospital. Their identity is being withheld at this time.
