NPD vehicle involved in crash with vacant school bus near SE Norman

CLEVELAND COUNTY, OK — A Norman Police Department vehicle was involved in a wreck involving a Norman Public Schools bus early Monday near southeast Norman, reports KOCO.

The collision occurred in the area of 60th Avenue Southeast and East Etowah Road shortly before 6:10 a.m.

It was unclear what led up to the crash, but responding officers learned a marked NPD vehicle was involved in a crash with the school bus, which was said to be unoccupied at the time.

The intersection was blocked and projected to remain closed for an extended time as authorities investigated.

Motorists were urged to detour around the scene.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
