OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – News on 9 reports that a home in northwest Oklahoma City sustained ‘significant damage’ in a fire on Saturday night.

According to Oklahoma City firefighters, the fire started at a residence near the Northwest 10th Street and North May Avenue intersection around 7:30 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found the owner of the home outside, who told them his daughter was recovering from a surgery and still inside. Firefighters searched the home twice but did not find his daughter inside.

The fire was eventually extinguished, but not before ‘significant damage’ had been done to the residence.

Following the fire, all traffic on NW 10th St was temporarily closed between North May Avenue and Interstate 44.

At this time, it is unclear whether the homeowner’s daughter was located and safe. We will update this blog if further details are made public.
