Oklahoma City Man Injured in Boat Crash

An Oklahoma City man was injured in a hit-and-run boat crash Saturday.

According to an official with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 38 year-old Greg Scherff was injured in a crash shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Lake Eufaula Saturday. Troopers say the boat Sheriff was in was stopped in the Standing Rock area of the lake when it was struck from behind by a boat driven by Aaron Jones. That boat fled the scene of the accident.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Matt Drummund, Jones and the driver of the boat that was hit knew each other. Drummond said Jones cooperated with investigators Sunday, but had a different version of how the collision happened. “[Jones] has a different story,” Drummond said. “Right now we’re getting the witnesses together so that we have all the facts before we present what we have.”

Scherff was transported to a Muskogee hospital for treatment, following the crash.
