One dead after bicyclist struck by hit-and-run driver in Cherokee Co.

WOODALL, OK (CHEROKEE COUNTY) – One person was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Highway 62 in Cherokee County late Thursday night, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
On 03/18 at about 9:54 p.m., a fatal collision occurred on U.S. 62 at Stanley Road/South 460 Road in Cherokee County. An unknown metallic white or light colored sedan was westbound on U.S. 62 and struck a bicyclist crossing U.S. 62 on Stanley Road/South 460 from south to north. pic.twitter.com/TZUsTK2M5R

The accident occurred on Highway 62, near Stanley Road and S 460 Road at about 9:55 p.m., when the driver of a light-colored sedan struck a bicyclist as they were crossing the street. The driver then fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
One person was confirmed dead in the accident. Their identity was not immediately available.
Authorities are searching for the suspect and vehicle, which should have damage to the front body and may be missing the driver’s-side mirror and headlight.
