WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, OK – Oklahoma Highway Patrol are reporting one person has died following a pursuit involving a stolen car on the Cherokee Turnpike Wednesday night.

According to KNWA, an Oklahoma State Trooper attempted a traffic stop of the stolen vehicle. When he asked the driver to exit the vehicle, the driver instead sped off, and a chase ensued.

The pursuit came to an end when OHP attempted a tactical vehicle intervention, causing the stolen vehicle to spin around and eject the driver. The driver was attempting to escape on foot when he was struck and killed by an oncoming car.

No word on the condition of the passenger in the vehicle has been released. This story is still developing; we will provide any updates as they are made available.
