One dead, one injured in head-on collision in Seminole County

BOWLEGS, OK (SEMINOLE COUNTY) – A woman from Maud was killed and a man from Texas was injured in a head-on collision Thursday in Seminole County, according to a report by KFOR.

The accident happened on Oklahoma Highway 59, two miles east of Bowlegs, just after 5:15 p.m.

The victim is 44-year-old Mitzi Pearce, who was driving a 2005 Ford F250 westbound on the highway when she traveled over the center line and into the lane of oncoming traffic. She collided head-on with a 2012 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by a 40-year-old man from Arlington, Texas.

Pearce died at the scene of the accident.

The truck driver was airlifted to the University of Oklahoma hospital in Oklahoma City for the treatment of several injuries.
