One killed in weekend Atoka County collision

ATOKA COUNTY, OK – Troopers west of Atoka County responded to a single-vehicle collision resulting in the death of a motorist Saturday morning.

According to KXII, the crash occurred along State Highway 7 a few miles west of Atoka shortly after 1:40 a.m. 34-year-old Preston Nolan was traveling westbound on the highway when his vehicle swerved off of the road and struck a tree.

Nolan was ejected from the car and pronounced dead upon officials’ arrival on the scene. A passenger was transported to Sherman Hospital. Their condition remains unknown at this time.

Officials believe both speed and alcohol played a role in the collision.
