One man dead, one injured in speeding-related crash in Mayes County

SPAVINAW, OK (MAYES COUNTY) – A driver was killed and his passenger was injured in a collision in Mayes County late last night, according to News on 6.

The collision occurred in Spavinaw, located northeast of Tulsa, on State Highway 20, just before midnight.

A driver, Domingko Nennis, was reportedly speeding when he failed to round a curve in the roadway. He then crashed into a tree.

Nennis died at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical head wounds.

Authorities reportedly smelled alcohol on Nennis during their investigation.
