MCCURTAIN COUNTY, OK — A 45-year-old Arkansas man died Friday night after a multi-vehicle crash that hurt three others on Oklahoma Highway 3 near Wright City, reports KFOR.

The fatal accident happened on a span of the highway about three miles north and two miles west of the city. It was first reported shortly before 7:37 p.m.

An early investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol indicates a 31-year-old Idabel man was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 eastbound on OK-3 when he veered past the center line and entered the westbound lanes. Moments later, the F-150 struck an oncoming 2002 Toyota Tundra and a 2015 Chevy Silverado.

Officials confirmed the Arkansas man, who was a passenger in the Tundra, died from his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Tundra, a 17-year-old Texas resident, was taken to McCurtain Memorial with undisclosed injuries, but has since been released.

The driver of the striking F-150 and his male passenger, also a 31-year-old Idabel resident, were both airlifted to Medical City Plano in Plano, Texas. Both patients received treatment for head and internal torso injuries.

No injuries to the driver of the Silverado, a 45-year-old Tishomingo man, were reported.

At this time, no pending charges and no further details have been reported.

An investigation was in progress.
