Pedestrian hit, injured by driver on SW 44th St in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — One person was injured early Thursday after being struck by a vehicle in the Western Hills neighborhood of south Oklahoma City, reports KFOR.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Southwest 44th Street and South Western Avenue, shortly before 2:15 a.m.

Details are limited at this time, but police said a driver was heading southbound on Western Avenue when they hit the pedestrian, who was in the roadway.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

Authorities said the driver stayed behind and cooperated with officers at the scene.

As of this writing, no pending charges have been reported.

An investigation was underway.
